When we got our new kitten from the breeder she came in a carrier so I didn't really worry that we had gotten rid of our old one. But then it arrived and it was so cheap I knew we had to get something else. Besides, it was too big to fit under the seat of a plane! I had seen this one online and liked its looks so I thought I'd try it for our kitten. So far she loves it! It is extremely well-made and looks fantastic. She's just a little kitten and I was concerned by some reviews that it might be too small once she grew up but now that I see it I think it will be fine for her. Our kitten is an ocicat and she will only grow to be 10-12 lbs as an adult so I don't anticpate a problem. This carrier has several nice features: I especially like the big vents, the removable pad that attaches with velcro, the detachable shoulder strap and the fact that the mesh windows have a smooth interior so our cat won't get her claws caught in them. You can't see inside the mesh windows from the outside so they act like one-way windows. This is good in a way because strangers will leave your pet alone but then you can't really see what they are doing either unless you unzip the door. The opening zips easily and she just walks right in and out. The carrier has a little leash inside which is a nice feature for dogs. My kitten just thinks it's a cat toy! I'm really looking forward to having this in the car for our next trip rather than that bulky plastic thing. I think my kitten will be more comfortable too.

I have two of these carriers and used them to take my cats to the vets this morning. Usually this is not a good experience, especially for them as they get extremely anxious.
Compared to the metal cage that the two normally shared to travel in, the vets commented how much calmer they were and how they felt the carriers had made a difference with that.
The carriers are easy to zip up, very easy to carry and incredibly stylish too - everyone commented on how great they were!
If you only knew how much of an ordeal this type of trip used to be and how they were both so well behaved today, it was just amazing, really amazing!
I can recommend spending time getting your pet used to being inside them first before you travel, that too made a difference.

Purchased this for upcoming short plane trip for my 5 lb dog. However even though I was sure to take note of measurements and scale it out with my tape measure, it really is smaller than it seems to be described. It is tapered in the back which is great for under the seat in the airplane, but there is no room for my pet to turn around in it. I don't have time to return it now, so I will donate it to the humane society. Too bad because I loved the styling and bright color.I would recommend to a friend if they have a very very small pet to carry in it. Under 4 lbs.

My dog is 8 pounds. I got the small and he fit fine but If your animal is going on a longer or bumpier trip or is even a little spoiled I'd suggest the larger version probably.

I purchased this carrier to transport my 10 week old 2 lb yorkshire terrier on board a flight. The carrier fit easily under the seat. The height was just right. (Note: The larger version definitely would have been too tall and would not have fit!) However, the carrier could have been made slightly longer and wider to allow more space for pets. When I placed it under the seat in front of me, I was upset at how much space was unused. He was able to fit inside the carrier and move around...but barely. When he grows, he will no longer be able to move around the carrier.

The carrier is hard and I didn't have to worry about him hitting his head during turbulence.
